On the article Municipal Budget Includes $1.9 Million in Capital Spending

No, people do tax appeals due to the value of their property plummeting. It's true that 62% of your taxes go to the Schools, but should that give an open invitation to the Municipal Government to not be frugal in their spending? I think not. All taxing entities are to blame, and to give one a reprieve over the others just because their increase is the smallest is patently silly. Remember, as late as the early hearings for the budget last year, this crew was contemplating furloughs again. Has the economy improved that much? Not that I've heard.

Just a small correction tr. You use the term "higher causes". That's a misnomer. They all answer to one cause, and that's George Gilmore. The supposed Democratic leadership (if you want to call them leadership) take Gilmore's scraps and are happy with their own personal gains. They could give a flying one about anyone else. The Democrats in Lacey have received little or no support from those clowns in Toms River since good 'ol Wyatt Earp took the reigns. The Democratic "candidate" last year was a plant from good 'ol Wyatt. She knew squat about what goes on in Lacey, even though she's lived here for over 20 years. She did make good points with her union, though, which good 'ol Wyatt is a leader of.

Ed, sorry to correct you, but he IS the Public Defender in Lacey Township. Johnny P stated "we just want to give a kid a chance" when he was appointed, replacing the long time public defender. By the way, that former Public Defender was appointed as a Judge by our Governor a short while ago. I guess it pays to be a "bobble head".

I hope your bobble head keeps bouncing as you take it up the keyster like the other bobble heads who are blinded by the letters "D" and "R".

ReplyWhat qualifications does Chris Reid have to be a full time administrator, other than he's the son of a former Township Committeeman from Lacey, is presently their Public Defender, and is a Republican Candidate for Township Committee in Lacey? From what I've heard, he's not exactly a kick-butt attorney either!

Sailor, No that was T&M (who also is a highly connected firm in Trenton, and lobbies very well for these projects).

ReplyThis was a horrible crime, taking advantage of those who were planning on spending their final years in peace and quiet. The root cause is lack of oversight and audit. This occurs when a single party machine runs your county for an extended period of time. Some things never change in Ocean County! This could happen again anywhere in the county at any time (if it hasn't already).

Rob,
You've got to be kidding me! Our "boy" in Trenton is tied in so tightly with the crooks who run Ocean County, if the day comes when they finally go down, he might be going with them. Wake up and smell the coffee. These folks down here are looking out for themselves and don't care if innocent bystanders get hurt in their dash for the cash. If people would think about the situation instead of being blinded by "R"s and "D"s, they'd know their getting hosed. Or do you like taking it in the keaster?
