ReplyIsn't the majority of the plaza area, other than the eastern most 16 foot, privately owned?....I seem to remember the area in front of Joey tomatoes being rebuilt up to the towns 16 ft. easement, and it wasn't the town footing the bill....or is this area now included in the 50k per year payment by Jenks?

ReplyOf course he had his lights on when he left. There is a coast guard station right there, Brielle has a Marine boat, that is out on patrol at night in summer, 4 bridges, a narrow canal and a state police station to pass. But once to the south mouth of the canal, I bet the first thing he did was turn off the lights, and push that throttle forward on that nice sweeping left hand run to the mouth of the Metedeconk. He probably did it a 100 times.

ReplyThey will not do the top finish layer of pavement for probably 2 years or so, until all underground and concrete work is finished. I know the gas company will be fixing/replacing the main the entire length, starting real soon, and sewer & storm pipe work must be completed before any curb, sidewalk & finished pavement, starting in Bay Head and working south. It's gonna be a nightmare and a complete cash cow for the cops on the island for traffic control.

ReplyFor those not familiar with a geo-tube, there was one in Bay head, 10 maybe 15 years ago, that was placed at one of the stone & wood groins that failed, running out into the water. Looked like a big sock filled with sand. It took a beating, and is no longer there, but may a good Idea as a dune base.

ReplyNice, from application to check in hand....2 weeks....I wonder if they had to wait for the check to clear, and if they have to show all the damage receipts.....Thats equal to each of the 26,000 damage homes receiving $5,500 each.

ReplyAlso, just saw this link in a APP article. The article said they will be taking comments on the fema mapping until 5 pm Tuesday. It's an email to the state DCA.

My mistake. A look at the tax maps does show the easement wider between Arnold & Central.
