Downton Abbey fans! Learn about Life at an Edwardian Manor

Wall Township Library will host a program sure to please fans of the critically-acclaimed PBS series Downton Abbey.

Life at an Edwardian Manor will be presented by food historian and educator Judith Krall-Russo on Wednesday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m.

The Downton Abbey series, which will begin its fourth PBS season on January 5, has renewed popular interest in the Edwardian era, when King Edward VII reigned in the United Kingdom.

It was a time of great disparity between the haves and the have-nots. Wealthy aristocrats owned huge manor houses, and reveled in luxury, leisure, and extravagant entertaining, with the menial tasks falling to the lower class of domestic servants.

Come learn about this fascinating time and the people who lived in it. Although you don't have to be a Downton Abbey fan to enjoy this program, devoted fans may take more notice of certain details in the show after attending this special presentation.

Wall Township Library is located at 2700 Allaire Road in Wall, 07719. Please call the library at 732-449-8877 for more information.

This program will also be held at Eastern Branch Library, 1001 Route 35 in Shrewsbury, on Saturday, January 11, 2014  at 2 p.m.
