Schools Looking To Hire Retired Police As Lobby Guards

The Wall Township School District is accepting applications for lobby guards, according to a post on the Wall Township Police Department website.

The positions pay $17 an hour. Applications are being accepted for the next seven days, until Sept. 30. The post specifically targets retired police officers, according to the post.

It does not say how many positions are open. 

Interim schools Superintendent Stephanie Bilenker said in a community-wide meeting last week that the district intended to place unarmed guards at the entrances of each of its seven schools in the wake of a security scare involving a former student
